Let’s say, and imagine for a moment that you see the sand on the skin.
That rough moment, when you scrub it off is approaching and visible. You know it will leave a mark, you know it will peal some tissue out of the body but you instinctively do it. The pain is a mixture of pleasure, animal content, chemical and electrical warnings to stop it, but, can you? Just after the first stroke, you almost taste what happening next. More strokes. What else? And all of this happens again. The sight of the sand, the moment of uncontrollable desire to touch it off and what comes after.

Then, you pack your things and go home from the beach.
